Graham's meantime
Graham does not leave the bell tower. He appears to have a room set up at the top of the tower, just big enough for a bed, a table, and his steamer trunk. He doesn't invite you in.
He wears his emotions on his sleeves; they encompass the narrow spectrum from sick and tired to bitter and jaded. If anyone is polite or kind to him, he will return the favor by being markedly less rude.
Though he appears to have rather harsh opinions on Lebanon (and, if you pay attention, Horace), it seems he has memorized the entire layout of the town and immediate surroundings.
Graham's relic is quite clearly the bell of the bell tower.

Re: Graham's meantime
Annie hangs out at the bell tower often, bringing Graham sandwiches and cookies and juice from the hotel or from the local grocery store. She tries honestly to make him smile, and brings by different things that she thinks might entertain him; like books, or the newspaper (although this quickly stops) or even some toys. Eventually she sits cross legged next to him and just talks at him.
